When i first saw this device i was like “Are you kidding me?”.I mean seriously, i really doubted about the capabilities of this device considering the size of it.Its just like a pen-drive but has more hardware power than my 2 year old Desktop CPU.I mean i know computers are getting smaller day by day , but this is just awesome. One would really have a hard time to believe what the Gadget is capable of.This device has been made to take advantage of the booming Cloud technology. The Cotton Candy aims to enable users a single secure point of access to all personal cloud service and apps through the users favorite operating system at the same time catering a consistent experience on any screen. This would be the future of modern computing.

I know after going though the specifications you must be wondering how the hell that can work when it does not have that much of a connectivity or accessibility to interact with the device. But if you think hard it really makes sense.

The HDMI output would be the Audio and Video Output of this device. There is only one USB port in the device. So the user would have to use USB Multiplier to connect various devices to it.The first thing would be the power Input.Without power obviously the Gadget cant work. The gadget drives power from the USB ports. With an USB Multiplier you can also connect the  Keyboard,Mouse and other supported devices. The Gadget also have Bluetooth and WiFi inbuilt so you can also connect Bluetooth mouse and keyboard to act as the input devices and Through WiFi you can connect to the internet. The Device also has a micro SD card port which can give the user enough space to save the local files and the software and OS.But for mass storage the device mainly relies on the Cloud technology which is internet based. So that’s how you can turn a simple gadget into a full fledged CPU.

The prototype which FXI publicly released few days ago were just for introduction purpose.FXI will ship a slightly different version of the GADGET into the market.Though most of the specifications remain same. But The main differences are listed below.

  • The Newer version would have an additional Micro USB port for better connectivity

  • It would weight merely 21 gms.
  • Supports Linux Ubuntu OS.
  • Can support Dual Screen Display
  • All the other specifications remain same

Price –The device has not yet been released officially. The expected price is about $199 or Rs.9500/- Only.
