A revolutionary technology is being introduced in the field of digital photography. The Mirror less interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) is a popular class of digital system cameras. Unlike a compact digital camera, a MILC is equipped with an interchangeable lens mount and unlike a digital single-lens reflex camera, a MILC does not have a mirror-based optical viewfinder. These cameras are very slim and can produce high quality photographs like SLR and DSLR cameras.

Canon EOS M is the first mirror less interchangeable-lens camera produced by Canon which has been introduced in June 2012 with simpler interface. The camera has a 3-inch touchscreen with support for multi-touch gestures such as pinch to zoom, swiping and tapping. The camera uses an 18 megapixel APS-C sensor and a DIGIC 5 processor, similar to the Canon EOS 650D.The camera uses an EF-M lens mount which can accept Canon EF and Canon EF-S lenses with an additional mount adapter. Two EF-M lenses, an included 22mm f/2 STM lens and an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, are available. The camera does not include a built-in flash, but launches with a dedicated Canon Speedlite 90EX, which will be a part of a bundle pack for this camera.
